[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] On the 27th, the information and communication technology (ICT) industry reported that Naver's labor and management reached a tentative agreement on a 5.8% wage increase after wage negotiations that extended from the previous day into the early hours of the morning.
This increase is 1 percentage point higher than last year's 4.8% wage increase but lower than Kakao's 6.2% increase.
Naver's labor and management have been negotiating wages since January. However, the process took an additional six months as the union did not accept the company's initial proposal of a 4.8% increase.
The Naver union plans to announce and explain the results of the wage negotiations over the next week, followed by a vote among union members to make a final decision.
