[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Kevin Liu Huang, the second son-in-law of SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, is reportedly serving in the U.S. Central Special Operations Joint Task Force-Central (CSOJTF-C) in the Middle East.
According to sources in the business community, Huang — who is married to Chairman Chey’s second daughter, Min-jung Chey — shared via social media:
“I thought being stationed at the Combined Joint Task Force in the Middle East would be more relaxed than serving in Ukraine or the Indo-Pacific Command. I never imagined all this would unfold in just six months.”
Huang is believed to have been involved in major military operations, including the December 2023 campaign leading to the collapse of the Assad regime in Syria, the recent offensive against Yemen’s Houthi rebels, and the June 22 precision strike on Iranian nuclear facilities involving B-2 stealth bombers and Tomahawk missiles.
Considering that Huang and Chey Min-jung were married at the Grand Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul in October 2023, it appears he was deployed to the Middle East shortly after their wedding.
CSOJTF-C oversees special operations across the Middle East, coordinating counterterrorism missions and joint operations with allied forces including Israel and Saudi Arabia.
