[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Following the United States' airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities in the early hours of June 22 (local time), flight disruptions have extended beyond Israel and Iran to key Middle Eastern hubs, including Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and Doha in Qatar.



According to the Financial Times, which cited data from flight tracking platform Flightradar24, British Airways and Singapore Airlines canceled scheduled flights to Dubai shortly after the U.S. military strike. The report emphasized that the latest escalation came less than a week after Israel's own strike on Iran, heightening tensions in the region and raising the likelihood of Iranian retaliation against the U.S.



A British Airways flight that departed London Heathrow for Dubai at 9:53 p.m. on June 21 was diverted mid-air and landed in Zurich, Switzerland, approximately nine hours after takeoff. Additionally, all scheduled flights from British Airways to Doha and Dubai on June 22 were canceled.



British Airways had already suspended flights to Bahrain earlier this month and confirmed that the suspension would remain in place through June 30.



The situation remains fluid as regional security risks continue to impact commercial aviation across the Middle East.
