[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Hanwha Aerospace will invest in manufacturing space projectiles. As the government selected Jeollanam-do as a specialized space launch vehicle district, it decided to build a monolith for Wooji launch vehicle in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do.

Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 14th that it will establish a 23,140㎡ (about 7,000 pyeong) space launch vehicle monolith in Suncheon, South Jeolla Province. The investment amount is about 50 billion won. 

 

The company plans to complete the construction of the monolith by 2025 to secure its own private infrastructure for follow-up projects such as Nuri as well as next-generation projectiles in the future.

The monolith is a facility that manufactures each stage of the projectile and checks its function, which is an essential facility for a comprehensive projectile system company.
