[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Rotem won the SRT (Suseo High Speed Railway) high-speed train project worth KRW 1 trillion. Last month, Hyundai Rotem also won an KTX high-speed train project worth 710 billion won from KORAIL.

Hyundai Rotem announced on the 21st, "We have confirmed the announcement of the winning bid for the power-dispersed high-speed train EMU-320 from SR, the SRT operator." The business size is 1.86 trillion won. It is 34.3% of Hyundai Rotem's sales (3.1633 trillion won) last year. SR plans to make a final contract with the successful bidder on the 24th to 28th after conducting a stability evaluation.

As Hyundai Rotem won a series of projects, chances are high that it will also win orders to replace KTX-1s. KTX-1 is estimated to cost between 5 trillion won and 6 trillion won only for pure replacement.
