[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] KT withdrew from the Russian Internet Data Center (IDC) in the aftermath of the war between Russia and Ukraine. However, KT explained that it is not the liquidation of all corporations that have entered Russia.

According to the industry on April 30, KT recently reported the liquidation of KT Primorye IDC corporation to the Russian authorities.

Earlier last year, KT signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Russian telecommunications company Mobile Tele Systems (MTS) to enter the Russian market and agreed to jointly build a local IDC.

In May of the same year, KT established a corporation in Maritime Province, Russia, to take charge of the IDC business. However, the war between Russia and Ukraine has made it difficult to carry out the project, and it has been reported that the liquidation process has begun in about a year.
