[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Prosecutors also said they took over data on the judgment of "abnormal transactions" from the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) in connection with the controversy over "6 billion won coin" by Rep. Kim Nam-kook of the Democratic Party of Korea.

An official at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office said on the 9th that the FIU gave the prosecution what it found strange when it notified lawmaker Kim of his abnormal transactions and related data.

As for the basis for FIU's judgment, "FIU may have judged it as an abnormal transaction according to the standard," he said. "It seems to have analyzed in many ways according to its own judgment."

In addition to the FIU data, the prosecution sought a seizure search warrant last year to confirm the source of the coins that flowed into Kim's electronic wallet, but the request was rejected and has yet to confirm the specific flow of funds.

The official said he is considering whether to request a search warrant again.
