[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] CJ Logistics will establish a "Global Logistics Center (GDC)" in Saudi Arabia, a logistics hub in the Middle East, and start exploring markets in nine Middle East countries.
CJ Korea Express has joined hands with iHub, the world's largest global health food shopping mall, as its first trading partner in the Middle East. In the future, it is expected that it will be able to play a role in supporting logistics such as Korean beauty, fashion, and electronic products, which have greatly increased local interest.
CJ Korea Express announced on the 11th (local time) that it signed a business agreement with the Saudi Civil Aviation Administration at the Riyadh Marriott Hotel in Saudi Arabia on the 10th (local time). Saudi GDC will enter the Riyadh Integrated Logistics Special Zone created by the Saudi government at King Khalid International Airport to become a global logistics hub. By the second half of 2024, a total of 60 billion won will be invested to build a total floor area of 18,000㎡ and a daily processing volume of 15,000 boxes. In particular, cutting-edge innovative technologies such as robots, data, and artificial intelligence (AI) will be applied to Saudi GDC.
Saudi Arabia aims to become a global logistics hub connecting Asia, Europe and Africa as part of its Vision 2030 to diversify its economic structure.
