[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Financial authorities will investigate all CFD accounts, which are considered the epicenter of the recent stock price crash from SG Securities. It plans to focus on whether it is related to the controversial stock price manipulation forces.
The Financial Services Commission, the Financial Supervisory Service and the Korea Exchange announced on the 14th that they will conduct a full investigation into about 3,400 CFD accounts held by 18 securities firms (13 in Korea and 5 overseas). January 2020 ∼ At the end of April 2023, we decided to check all transactions. The Korea Exchange examines market price manipulation and fraudulent transactions in CFD accounts. Financial authorities will immediately launch an investigation into the transactions detected by the exchange.
The Financial Services Commission has launched an investigation into the collapse of SG Securities since the middle of last month. In the process, it was confirmed that a number of CFD accounts traded stocks suspected of stock manipulation. Therefore, we decided to investigate not only some accounts but also the entire CFD account.
The financial authorities have dispatched 10 Financial Services Commission members and three Financial Supervisory Service members to the prosecution to support the investigation into the stock manipulation scandal. The Financial Supervisory Service will send two more personnel to the prosecution.
