[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] SK Hynix is currently seeking to raise an additional 300 billion won from commercial banks.
SK Hynix explained that its goal is to secure additional investment resources in preparation for a rebound in the semiconductor industry.
According to the industry on the 17th, SK Hynix will sign a loan contract to borrow around 200 billion won from Hana Bank. The negotiations are currently in the final stages and only final approval remains. SK Hynix is also considering taking out additional loans from other banks on the condition that the loan conditions are good.
SK Hynix's planned facility investment is estimated at around 9 trillion won this year. Considering the facility investment (1.748 trillion won) executed in the first quarter, an additional 7.25 trillion won is needed. As SK Hynix recorded an operating loss of 3.402 trillion won in the first quarter, there was a growing concern about 'lack of funds' in the market.
