[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has decided to temporarily suspend manufacturing and sales of Daewon Pharmaceutical's "ColdaeWon Kids Syrup," where the "phase separation" phenomenon took place.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 17th that it recommended Daewon Pharmaceutical to voluntarily recall all manufacturing numbers of Danajen's Finecua Set Pen Syrup, which is manufactured by Daewon Pharmaceutical with the same manufacturing method as ColdaeWon Kids, and temporarily suspended manufacturing and sales.
Following the confirmation of the phase separation from ColdaeWon Kids Pen Syrup, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said the decision combines the results of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety's inspection of liquid syrup containing "acetaminophen" and producers and importers of trust agents, including the products concerned, and the results of expert advice on them.
However, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety explained that no violations were found in the manufacturing process and quality control of Daewon Pharmaceutical. It was also added that there was no phase separation in both domestic liquid syrup and cash reserves.
Regarding the phase separation itself, experts said, "The phase separation may occur due to the nature of the trust system," adding, "Even if the phase separation product is taken separately, the actual risk is low."
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said it recommended the company's voluntary recall of ColdaeWon kids pen syrup and fine cure set pen syrup as a preventive measure and took measures to improve the sanctions of the products along with the suspension of manufacturing and sales.
