Samsung and Naver Pay's on-site payment surged for a month ... 14 million cases from 580,000 places

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The amount of payment surged over the month after Naver Pay was linked to Samsung Pay's magnetic security transmission (MST) field payment.
Naver Financial announced its performance for a month after the start of Samsung Pay linkage on the 18th. First of all, the number of new Naver Pay applications (apps) installed last month was about 470,000, up 186% from the previous month. At the beginning of the same month, it topped the integration of popular apps and games in the Google Play Store and topped the overall app and financial app category for one to two weeks, respectively.
The average amount of on-site payments per user increased by 123% compared to the previous month. In particular, the proportion of users who have paid more than twice accounts for 72% of the total. By age, on-site payments for those in their 30s and 40s, the main consumers, grew 206% and 219%, respectively, compared to the previous month. The payment amount of users in their 20s also increased by 143%.
As Naver Pay points can be drawn after payment anywhere in the country, the number of points taken by users reached about 14 million last month. Users who accumulated more than 10,000 points last month jumped 550% from the previous month.
The number of on-site payments is also on a steady rise. Last month, there were 581,000 payment locations, accounting for about 20% of the 3 million franchises nationwide where Samsung Pay is available. The number of businesses that can be paid has also increased significantly at major convenience stores, cafes and bakery franchise stores. From small restaurants to pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, gas stations, and vehicle purchases, it is now available in everyday life.
