[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] LS Electric Chairman Koo Ja-kyun (66), the second-generation owner of LS, was belatedly caught driving a Ferrari at more than 160㎞ per hour on the Olympic Boulevard in Seoul. The police believe that Kim, a manager of the company who stated that he/she drove, hid Koo's speeding and handed him/her over to the prosecution together.
Yongsan Police Station in Seoul said on the 18th that it sent Koo and Kim to the prosecution early last month on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act and fleeing criminals, respectively.
Chairman Koo is suspected of driving his own Ferrari at more than 160㎞ per hour, exceeding the speed limit of 80㎞ per hour on Olympic Boulevard on Nov. 9 last year.
Under the Road Traffic Act, driving at a speed higher than 80㎞ per hour than the speed limit will be subject to criminal punishment for fines of up to 300,000 won or detention, not fines or fines.
Kim visited the police station on Dec. 23 last year and said he drove the car. Chairman Koo attended the police in March and admitted that he was driving and speeding.
