[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Shiftup, a South Korean game developer, will begin a full-fledged listing process.
Shiftup announced on the 19th that it has selected Korea Investment & Securities and NH Investment & Securities as the representative organizers of the listing.
Shiftup sent a bid proposal (RFP) to major securities firms last month and explained that the two companies were selected as co-directors after reviewing their listing capabilities and industrial expertise first.
Shift-up was founded in 2013 by CEO Kim Hyung-tae, who became known as a star developer as the general manager of "Blade & Soul" art at NCsoft. He released his first work, "Destiny Child" in 2016, and "Nike," which was launched in November last year under the publishing of Level Infinite, once ranked No. 1 in sales in domestic and overseas app markets.
Through the success of the game, it became a unicorn (unlisted company worth more than 1 trillion won) last year. Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund PIF visited the office with interest. In November last year, it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the vice minister of Saudi investment. For the next film, 'Triple A' action game 'Stella Blade' is being developed exclusively for the PlayStation 5 platform.
