[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Kolmar Group will transform its core affiliate, Kolmar Korea, into a holding company.
Kolmar Korea is a business company and intermediate holding company and plans to secure transparency in governance.
According to the industry on the 23rd, Kolmar Korea was notified by the Fair Trade Commission on the 22nd that it will be converted into a holding company by meeting the requirements of a holding company. The base date is January 1, 2023.
Kolmar Korea applied to the Fair Trade Commission last month for a review of its transition to a holding company. Under the Fair Trade Act, if the requirements for holding companies are met, they must be reported to the FTC. The current Enforcement Decree of the Fair Trade Act is regarded as a holding company if the total asset amount is more than 500 billion won and the total amount of shares held by subsidiaries exceeds half of the total asset amount.
Kolmar Korea's transition to an intermediate holding company is interpreted as part of Kolmar Group's relocation. Korea Kolmar Holdings, a holding company, seems to be reorganized with Kolmar Global, which is in charge of global distribution, Kolmar & H, which focuses on dry food, and Planet 147, which is in charge of the platform business, to place Korea Kolmar as an intermediate holding company centered on cosmetics manufacturing and sales.
As Kolmar Korea turns into an intermediate holding company, it is expected to expand its subsidiary's business influence and diversify its business.
