[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Jamie Dimon, 67, CEO and chairman of JP Morgan, dubbed the "emperor of Wall Street in the U.S.," visited Korea on the 5th to meet key figures in the financial industry. JP Morgan is the largest bank in the United States, and he survived the 2008 financial crisis and has led JP Morgan Chase for nearly two decades.
According to the industry on the 6th, Chairman Dimon departed from Tokyo on a private plane on the 5th and arrived in Korea via Gimpo Airport in the afternoon. Shortly after his arrival, Dimon moved to a hotel near Gwanghwamun, Seoul, and met with major Korean financial institutions, including Shinhan Financial Group Chairman Jin Ok-dong, Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo, Woori Financial Group Chairman Lim Jong-ryong, NH Nonghyup Group Chairman Lee Seok-joon and KIC President Jin Seung-ho.
CEOs of other major financial institutions, including Yoon Jong-kyu, chairman of KB Financial Group, Park Hyun-joo, chairman of Mirae Asset Financial Group, and Kim Nam-gu, chairman of Korea Investment Financial Group, reportedly did not attend due to business trips.
