[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Kyung Joo-hyun, head of Samsung Electronics' DS division (president), took the hotel's "customized service" as an example to secure foundry customers (semiconductor consignment production). They argue that by providing services that meet each customer's needs, they should not only be able to lose existing customers, but also bring in new customers.

President Kwon Kyung-hyun made the remarks to a question about students' strategy to attract foundry customers after a lecture on "Samsung Electronics CEO Seminar - The Future of Semiconductors to Yonsei University" held at the 3rd Engineering Building at Yonsei University in the afternoon of the 9th. About 600 students were present at the lecture site.

Kyung said, "We likened the foundry business to the hotel industry. Good hotels are not only clean but also provide services where customers come and stay comfortable. We should have many things as much as everything customers want is different."

Samsung Electronics Foundry explained that considering this hotel strategy, there were few rooms and lack of services. "We need various service policies such as IP (system design assets) and design services, and we are trying to do a lot of such things," CEO Kyung said. "Although it cost a lot of money, we have expanded our IP, and we are also speeding up 3-nano and 2-nano development."

"We are thinking about how we can expand our design services. We are also doing business to develop the strengths that customers feel and combine memory with packages," he added.
