[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Samsung Electronics will implement a partial four-day workweek once a month starting this month.
According to the industry on the 12th, Samsung Electronics will establish a 'monthly holiday' that employees take one day off every month when they meet the mandatory monthly working hours starting this month. As a result, employees of Samsung Electronics, except for production workers in three shifts in four groups, can take a break every Friday, which includes the 21st of each month.
This is included in the results of this year's labor-management council, which Samsung Electronics announced in April, and will enter into force for the first time this month. The labor-management council is an organization in which user members representing the company and worker members representing employees participate to discuss working conditions such as wages.
The labor-management council is also said to have agreed on welfare measures, such as allowing up to three days of the additional annual leave (mandatory annual leave) to be carried over to the following year.
