‘Apple Pay effect’ Hyundai Card surpasses KB Kookmin Card in number of members and ranks third

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Thanks to the Apple Pay boom, Hyundai Card beat KB Kookmin Card to rank third in terms of membership. As Hyundai Card improves its performance thanks to Apple Pay, other credit card companies are also expected to be eager to introduce Apple Pay.
According to data from the Credit Finance Association on the 23rd, the total number of Hyundai Card members reached 11,734,000 as of the end of May. It ranks third in Shinhan Card (14.296 million) and Samsung Card (12.728 million). KB Kookmin Card fell behind fourth with 11,726,000 people.
According to the accumulated personal lump-sum card usage this year, Hyundai Card ranked second. In May, Hyundai Card's cumulative personal lump-sum card amounted to 37.7911 trillion won. Shinhan Card (40.6363 trillion won) is the only one that recorded a higher amount than Hyundai Card. During the same period, Samsung Card and KB Kookmin Card ranked third and fourth with 35.8716 trillion won and 32.804 trillion won, respectively.
