[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Following Saudi Arabia, CJ Logistics will create a logistics center for Korean products in the U.S. market. The center will be built in 50 soccer fields in three locations, including Illinois and New Jersey, in partnership with the Korea Maritime Promotion Agency, a financial support organization under the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and will be completed in stages over two years from 2026. The total investment costs 600 billion won.
CJ Logistics and others expect that the establishment of a logistics base in the U.S. will facilitate Korean companies' entry into the North American market and increase their responsiveness to global supply chain reorganization.
CJ Logistics announced on the 28th that it will build a state-of-the-art logistics center on three sites of 360,000㎡ in the United States to strengthen its global logistics network. The site will be provided by CJ Korea Express and the Korea Ocean Business Corporation will support financing for construction. This is the first time that the public and private sectors jointly build a national logistics network overseas.
CJ Logistics's establishment of a logistics hub in North America with the Korea Maritime Promotion Agency is to actively respond to the reorganization of the global supply chain.
CJ Logistics will be in charge of center operation and develop optimal logistics operation model to meet local demand and logistics strength. It plans to create synergy by linking new logistics centers with logistics centers operating throughout the United States.
