[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Construction of a Korean-style standard gas complex power plant developed with pure domestic technology will be carried out in earnest.

Doosan Enerbility announced on the 28th that it has signed a contract with Korea Midland Power to supply a 280 billion won Boryeong New Complex Power Plant.

Boryeong New Complex Power Plant is the first project to be applied with the Korean standard gas complex model. In the meantime, domestic gas complex power plants have been supplied with various types of foreign gas turbines, which has made it difficult to maintain and repair efficiently. In response, Doosan Energy succeeded in localizing large gas turbines for power generation in 2019 and has developed 340 domestic industry-academia-research institutes and Korean-style standard gas complex models as national projects since 2021.

The Korea Midland Power Co. plans to switch the Boryeong New Complex Power Plant to a hydrogen complex power plant to realize carbon neutrality in 2050.
