[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Motor is going to install LG Display OLED display in Genesis, a luxury car brand.

According to the auto industry on the 3rd, Genesis will be equipped with a "panoramic display" (a center fascia with a dashboard, navigation and audio to one screen) using LG Display's 27-inch OLED in the 2024 GV80 partial change (Facelift) model to be released in the second half of this year. This is the first time Hyundai Motor has installed OLED on its main display.

Hyundai has used LCD (liquid crystal display) while separating Genesis' dashboard and infotainment. However, we decided to add a panoramic display from the 2024 GV80 partial change model.

Hyundai Motors is also expected to install a series of OLED displays in its new products, starting with the Genesis flagship GV80.

Hyundai Motor is building a stable supply chain by joining hands with companies with the best capabilities in the future car business, including Samsung Electronics and LG Display.

LG Display is expected to secure a stable revenue base in the automotive display business by supplying OLED to Genesis. In addition, related technical capabilities are expected to be further strengthened.
