[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] LS Electric will establish its first North American production base in Texas, USA. The decision is aimed at responding to large-scale power infrastructure-related orders from semiconductor and battery customers who are building factories there.
According to industry and foreign media on the 9th, LS Electric bought 46,000㎡ of land and auxiliary facilities located south of Bastrup, Texas, on the 23rd of last month. It plans to renovate existing facilities on the site to create a distribution system production plant.
The factory site purchased by LS Electric is close to the site of Samsung Electronics' semiconductor consignment production (foundry) in Taylor, Texas, which is currently being built.
Earlier in November last year, LS Electric signed a contract to supply 174.6 billion won worth of distribution systems to Taylor's Samsung Electronics plant.
