[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] POSCO Holdings announced on the 9th that it has completed POSCO HY Clean Metal's secondary battery recycling plant.
POSCO HY Clean Metal is a secondary battery recycling company jointly operated by POSCO Holdings, China's Huayu Cobalt and GS Energy.
The recycling plant completed this time handles 12,000 tons of black powder annually. Metal resources such as 2,500 tons of nickel, 800 tons of cobalt, and 2,500 tons of lithium carbonate can be recovered.
Black powder is a black powder collected by shredding waste batteries.
At the PLSC (Poland Legnica Sourcing Center) plant established in Poland in August last year, POSCO Holdings destroys secondary battery scraps and waste batteries to make black powder, and supplies them to the POSCO HI Clean Metal recycling plant in Yulchon Industrial Complex to extract metals from secondary battery materials.
