HD Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering signed a contract for 416.2 billion won for 3 ships… Exceeded 90% of annual target

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] HD Hyundai's intermediate holding company, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, said on the 7th that it has recently signed a contract with a European-based shipping company to build three super-sized gas carriers (VLGC), a type of liquefied natural gas (LPG) carrier.
The order amount is about 416.2 billion won in Korean currency. The vessel ordered this time will be built by Ulsan HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and delivered by December 2026.
With this order, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering won a total of 110 ships (including one marine facility) this year. The cumulative order amount was 14.39 billion dollars (about 18.8178 trillion won), tentatively achieving 91.4% of the annual order target of 157.4 billion dollars.
By ship, there are 33 petrochemical product carriers, three tankers, 29 container ships, 18 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, 20 LPG carriers, two medium-sized gas carriers, four automobile carriers (PCTC) and one marine facility.
