[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hite Jinro's new beer Kelly sold more than 100 million bottles (3.3 million boxes) within 99 days of its launch. 100 million bottles are the amount of 2.3 bottles per adult (based on 43.28 million people) in Korea.
According to Hite Jinro on the 12th, Kelly has sold 11.7 bottles per second based on 330ml since its launch in April. The sales speed is getting faster. It sold more than 1 million boxes within 36 days of its launch, exceeding 2 million boxes on the 66th day, and recorded 3 million boxes on the 90th day.
Kelly is a new beer released four years after Hite Jinro launched "Tera" in 2019. It is made of 100% premium Danish malt and has an alcohol content of 4.5 degrees.
Last month, Hite Jinro's overall beer sales in the entertainment and home market rose about 33% compared to March before Kelly's launch. Sales in the second quarter of this year also rose about 12 percent year-on-year.
