[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] A lawsuit has been filed by LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo to cancel the imposition of inheritance tax.
In its first hearing at the Seoul Administrative Court today (13th), the court asked the Yongsan Tax Office to submit another case of evaluating unlisted stocks to calculate the inheritance tax, saying, "The issue is whether there is a legitimate reason for calculating the LG CNS price."
Chairman Koo's family is said to have filed a lawsuit to get a court judgment on the value of a 1.12% stake in LG CNS inherited from former chairman Koo Bon-moo, who died in 2018.
Former chairman Koo's legacy is worth 2 trillion won, and the inheritance tax imposed on the LG family is 990 billion won.
