Lotte Energy Materials enters the silicon anode materials market

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Lotte Energy Materials is planning to expand its next-generation battery business by investing in stakes in next-generation silicon nanowire-based anode materials companies.
According to related industries on the 16th, Lotte Energy Materials signed an equity investment contract with French startup enwires, which owns silicon cathode material technology for batteries, at Lotte Ventures headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 14th.
Lotte Energy Materials formed Lotte Ventures and Lotte Energy Materials Fund as part of 'Development of Next-generation Battery Materials' and invested 7.9 billion won in demo plant investment and operation funds in NWires.
enwires currently has a pilot line of 2.5 tons per year and plans to expand production to full-scale commercial mass production from 2027.
