[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Doosan Group will make preemptive investments in the hydrogen fuel cell business, which has recently been in a slump through large-scale financing.

According to industry sources on the 17th, Doosan recently succeeded in attracting 196.3 billion won worth of investment from its 100% subsidiary, hydrogen fuel cell company HyAciom. Major domestic institutional investors participated in the investment.

HyAxiom is a US hydrogen fuel cell company founded in 2014 by Doosan after acquiring Clearedge Power of the United States. Until last year, it was called Doosan Fuelcell America, but changed its name to HyAxiom.

It holds the original technology of Doosan's hydrogen fuel cell for power generation and is also in charge of winning U.S. business orders. It is highly competitive in the field of phosphate fuel cells (PAFC).

Doosan Fuelcell also secured 60 billion won worth of funds by issuing corporate bonds last month. Doosan Fuelcell plans to spend some of its procurement money on refinancing and the rest on facility investment.
