[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] It has been confirmed that some reports that Harim Group and JKL Partners are participating in the acquisition of HMM are not true.

According to Alpha Biz coverage on the 25th, Harim Group and JKL Partners have little willingness to acquire HMM.

An official familiar with the internal affairs of Harim and JKL told Alpha Biz, "I understand that Harim and JKL were only interested in the same structure of the co-acquired Pan Ocean and HMM," adding, "There is no concrete move to participate in the HMM acquisition by forming a consortium."

According to some Korean media, Harim and JKL Consortium recently received HMM Investment Manual (IM) from Samsung Securities.

The newspaper also reported that Harim is considering the investment to enhance synergy with the group's bulk carrier Pan Ocean.

The newspaper added that Harim is expected to take over a major stake and JKL Partners will use blind funds to buy a minority stake
