[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] A research service found that if the Korea Development Bank relocates its headquarters to Busan, all organizations and functions must be moved except essential organizations. It was also suggested that the policy and financial functions of the Korea Development Bank should be divided into Busan headquarters and Yeouido, Seoul. Among them, KDB is said to be strongly insisting on a "regional growth-oriented method" that can move 100% of KDB's organization and functions to Busan.

However, in order to push for the relocation to Busan, the Korea Development Bank needs to come up with measures to resolve the side effects of the Korea Development Bank's relocation proposed in this research service to Busan. The research service is concerned about the difficulties in responding to the demand for policy financing in the Seoul metropolitan area in the case of the Korea Development Bank's relocation to Busan, and the decrease in cooperative efficiency due to the physical separation of the organization.

According to the National Assembly and the financial sector on the 27th, the Korea Development Bank visited lawmakers from the Financial Services Commission and the National Assembly's National Policy Committee to explain the results of a research service commissioned by Samil PwC to set up a plan to move to Busan.

The regional growth-oriented method calls for the relocation of all functions and organizations of the Korea Development Bank to Busan and the introduction of a regional center that serves as a forward base for policy finance by regional hub. Policy financing will be carried out around the Busan headquarters, but Yeouido will inevitably maintain only organizations essential for market stability and financing. This method has the advantage of creating balanced national development engines and leading the revitalization of Southeast and Busan financial centers.

Analysts say that if the financial demand-oriented relocation method is adopted, the size of the relocation will be about 450 to 800, which requires at least 145 manpower reinforcement.
