[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Krafton announced on the 9th that it recorded consolidated sales of 387.1 billion won, operating profit of 131.5 billion won, and net profit of 128.5 billion won in the second quarter.

Compared to the same period last year, sales fell 8.6%, operating profit fell 20.7%, and net profit fell 33.7%. Compared to the previous quarter, it decreased by 28.2%, 53.5%, and 51.9%, respectively.

In the case of 'Battleground' PCs and consoles in the first half of the year, it has strengthened its service foothold by carrying out various updates such as improving general matches, adding resurrection systems, launching clan systems, and reorganizing arcades. It is explained that more than 2 million new users have steadily flowed in per month even after the free service. In the second half of the year, it plans to collaborate with new intellectual property rights (IP) and launch new maps.

Krafton is strengthening its game development and publishing capabilities under the 'Scale Up the Creative (Scale-Up the Creative)' strategy. Currently, Krafton and 11 independent studios are developing more than 20 new works, including "A Bird that Drinks Tears," "Project Blackbird" and "Project Gold Rush."

In order to expand the ecosystem, a new proposal system, 'The Creative', was also established. It is a system that organizes less than 30 people and decides whether to publish it officially according to the results of soft launch.

In addition, the company has introduced deep learning technology into the field with the aim of discovering new games and increasing production efficiency, and will work with Naver Jet to apply deep learning technology to the open world UGC platform Migaloo, which is set to be launched at the end of the year.
