Mercedes-Benz Group Chairman Källenius met with LG Kwon Bong-seok... Collaborative start of display for vehicles

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Mercedes-Benz Group Chairman Ola Källenius, who is visiting Korea, visited LG Display, which has been in partnership for 20 years.

According to LG Display on the 24th, LG Vice Chairman Kwon Bong-seok and LG Display President Chung Ho-young met with Mercedes-Benz Group Chairman Karenius at the LG Display research building in Magok, Seoul.

He was also joined by executives of the two companies, Matthias Bottle, Mercedes-Benz Korea Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kim Byung-koo, head of LG Display's Auto Business Group (Executive Director), and Kim Hee-yeon, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO·).

The two companies agreed to further solidify the cooperative system centered on premium vehicle displays on this day.

LG Display is a key supplier of premium vehicle displays to Mercedes-Benz.

LG Display, which started a display project for vehicles with Mercedes-Benz in 2004, has been in partnership for 20 years.

Especially, starting with the S-Class in 2020, the company is supplying plastic (P)-organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) for vehicles to premium lineups such as electric vehicle EQS and EQE.

President Ola Källenius visited LG Display's research center in an EQS SUV equipped with LG Display's automotive OLED.

Meanwhile, Källenius also met with SK Group Senior Vice Chairman Choi Jae-won on the previous day to discuss ways to cooperate on overall electric vehicles, including vehicle infotainment, charging business and power semiconductors.
