[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Samsung Electronics will invest $ 3.7 million to train semiconductor talent in the U.S.

It will join hands with the University of Texas, which has a campus in Austin to secure manpower in the Texas state, the home of Samsung Electronics' semiconductor base in the U.S.

Samsung Electronics said on its semiconductor newsroom website on the 4th that it has partnered with the Cockrell (UT) College of Engineering at the University of Texas, Austin to provide a total of $ 3.7 million to foster local manpower.

Samsung Electronics will donate $ 1 million to Cockrell Institute of Technology in the future and invest $ 2.7 million in research and development (R&D), including scholarships and fellowships. It will provide scholarships to 40 undergraduates and fellowship opportunities to 10 graduate students. It also provides paid internship opportunities for Samsung Electronics.
