[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] OTT service 'Disney Plus' announced the reorganization of the plan. The company plans to raise the existing membership price (9,900 won per month) by 4,000 won and add a new lower-grade membership that has lower image quality than the existing membership and reduces the number of devices that can be streamed simultaneously.

"The new membership type and subscription fee policy will be applied to new subscribers after Nov. 1, 2023," Walt Disney Company Korea said on its official website on the 6th, adding that the plan will be reorganized with a Disney Plus standard of 9,900 won (99,000 won per year) and a Disney Plus premium of 13,900 won (139,000 won per year).

Previously, only 9,900 won per month (99,000 won per year) was operated. However, if the standard plan of the same price is selected after the reorganization of the plan, the image quality will be low and the number of devices available for simultaneous streaming will be reduced.

The standard membership offers up to full HD (1080p) quality and 5.1 audio channels, with two simultaneous streaming devices. The premium membership offers up to 4K Ultra HD and HDR quality and Dolby Atmos audio, with four simultaneous streaming devices. Premium membership is the same specification as the existing single membership.

Disney Plus explained that customers who subscribed before November 1 can use the existing fee (9,900 won per month or 99,000 won per year) for premium membership. However, you have to pay an increased fee when subscribing to a premium membership after termination.

Disney Plus plans to hold a 41% discount on its one-year membership until 3:59 p.m. on the 21st before raising subscription fees. The price is 58,900 won.
