[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Solidigm, a US subsidiary of SK Hynix (000660), closed its domestic branch. While the memory semiconductor business has subsided, the company has laid off its workforce in order to streamline operations as NAND flash is especially sluggish.

According to the industry on the 8th, Solidigm closed its Korean branch in July. The Korean branch, which used to be an agency, was put on the list for efficiency due to its small manpower and low importance.

Solidigm is cleaning up its global branches in small places in order to streamline operations, and this was also the case in Korea.

Solidigm is a former Intel NAND division acquired by SK Hynix in 2021. It is suffering losses due to the cost and deterioration of the business due to the acquisition, and the net loss of the US NAND corporation, including Solidime, amounted to 2.2423 trillion won in the first half of this year.

Solidigm also laid off 98 employees at its headquarters in California in July. It is about 10% of the total employees.
