KT's September billing error occurred

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] An error occurred on the 12th that KT charged more than 1.4 million customers with the September mobile fee as the July fee. KT said it will take corrective action and refund it.

Earlier in the day, KT sent text messages to users who were wrongly charged with cancellation of approval and scheduled refunds.

"The September fee has been approved by some customers in July, so it will be handled normally after cancellation," KT said. "We apologize for the confusion and we have corrected the error immediately, and we will do our best to ensure that there is no inconvenience in the future."

According to KT, there was an input error during the billing process for customers of certain credit card companies among users who pay communication fees with cards. The number of customers who misinformed the fare is 1.31 million who pay with a credit card and 150,000 who pay with a check card.

In response, KT canceled approval for credit card users in cooperation with credit card companies, and canceled approval and refund measures for check card users who have completed approval and withdrawal.

However, credit card users of A Card Company were confused again this afternoon by sending a card approval text with the July rate. A KT official said, "It was not actually approved due to an error in the texting system," he said. "We plan to guide the users further."
