[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and SK Group Chairman Choi Tae-won are expected to go on a business trip to Saudi Arabia next month.
According to the business community on the 14th, Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Won Hee-ryong is seeking to go with the top 10 leaders on his trip to the Middle East slated for next month.
The government initially sought to visit Saudi Arabia with CEOs of construction companies at the center, but reportedly changed the visiting group to the top 10 groups in order to win all-out orders for Neom City.
The business community has been pushing to strengthen cooperation with Saudi Arabia to win the Neom City order. Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong, SK Chairman Choi Tae-won, Hyundai Motor Chairman Chung Eui-sun, Doosan Chairman Park Jung-won and CJ Chairman Lee Jae-hyun visited the residence of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, who visited Korea in November last year and held a meeting for about two hours.
At the investment forum held in the wake of Prince Mohammed bin Salman's visit to Korea, major domestic companies, the Saudi government, institutions, and companies signed 26 investment contracts and a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the same time.
