[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Paris Baguette, a bakery brand of SPC Group, achieved its first surplus in the first half of this year since entering the U.S.

Paris Baguette will have a total of 150 stores in North America, including the United States and Canada, at the end of September.

According to SPC on the 14th, Paris Baguette's U.S. subsidiary posted its first surplus in the first half of this year, 18 years after its entry, and has maintained sales of around 100 billion won for years.

SPC's holding company Paris Croissant established the Paris Baguette corporation in the United States in September 2002 and opened its first store (Western branch) in Los Angeles in October 2005.

As of this day, Paris Baguette has stores in 74 locations in the eastern United States, 66 locations in the West, and one in Canada. Paris Baguette will open two more stores this month after opening its first store in Canada in March. Southpark on Whyte, the second franchise store, will open in Edmonton, the capital of Alberta, Canada, on the 14th, followed by Canada's first direct store, Newmarket East, on the 22nd.

Paris Baguette is scheduled to open its first store in North Carolina on the 22nd and enter 20 states. In addition, the company plans to open its 150th store in North America by opening seven franchise stores in six states, including New York, California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts, by the end of September. It plans to open a total of 60 locations in North America this year alone, including Washington, Hawaii and Tennessee by the end of the year.
