Shipments from Korean companies in the smartphone OLED market declined and China increased

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] In the flexible organic light-emitting diode (OLED) market for smartphones, shipments by Korean companies have decreased and Chinese companies have increased.
According to market researcher Stone Partners on the 19th, Samsung Display ranked first in the global mobile flexible OLED market in the third quarter.
Samsung Display is expected to ship 55 million flexible OLEDs with a market share of 47.8% during this period. However, shipments are expected to decrease by 13% year-on-year.
The second place was taken by China's BOE. BOE is expected to supply 23.1 million panels, up 29.1% from the same period last year. BOE's market share is expected to be 20.1%, up 2.5%p from 17.6% last year.
The third place was the Chinese CSOT. It is expected to supply panels to Chinese smartphone makers such as Xiaomi and Huawei and take up 9.9% of the market share.
LG Display, a domestic company, ranked 6th. LG Display is expected to supply 4.8 million panels, down 30% from the same period last year. The market share is also expected to be only 4.1%.
Stone Partners predicts that overall shipments of mobile flexible OLED panels will reach 115 million units in the third quarter, up 13.5 percent from a year earlier.
