[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] It has been confirmed that rebars have been omitted from wall-shaped apartments under construction by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).
Less than two months after it was revealed that rebars were missing from LH apartments with the Muryangpan structure, another poor construction was found.
LH secretly carried out the repair work without informing the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport as well as the prospective residents.
According to LH on the 25th, about 30% of the outer wall rebars were missing from a public apartment building under construction by LH in the new city of Geomdan, Incheon. The complex consists of a total of 13 buildings, with steel bars missing from six underground walls in four buildings. The estimated time of moving into the complex is June 2025, and the current process rate is around 30%.
The problem is that LH received a report from a supervision company in late June and began reinforcement work on the 11th of this month, but did not notify the government or prospective residents in the process. Controversy is expected as it has been hiding the omission of rebars for nearly four months. It is also pointed out that investigations should be conducted on the exterior walls as well as the muryang plate structure, which was initially a problem.
