[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Of the 74 financial firms with assets of 2 trillion won or more, 30 have no female registered directors, the report showed.
Woori Bank, Daegu, Busan, Gwangju, Jeonbuk, Gyeongnam, Industrial, and K-Bank do not have female registered directors.
Securities firms include Yuanta, Kyobo, Hi Investment, Shinyoung, Eugene Investment, Nomura, eBEST, IBK, DB Financial Investment, Buguk, BNK Investment, Hanyang, JP Morgan, Cape Investment, and Goldman Sachs, while all six life insurance companies are male.
In non-life insurance companies, only KB Insurance does not have a female registered director.
Yoon Young-deok of the Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Policy Committee of the National Assembly, received the status of female registered directors of financial companies with assets of 2 trillion won or more from the Financial Supervisory Service, the Korea Federation of Banks, the Life Insurance Association and the General Insurance Association on the 3rd.
Of the total 461 registered executives of 74 banks, securities firms, life insurers and property insurance companies with assets exceeding 2 trillion won, only 52 were female registered directors. The ratio is 11 percent.
