[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Taihan Cable & Solution has been selected as the preferred supplier of underwater cables in the internal network of the 'Ama Marine Wind Power Project'.
Taihan Cable & Solution announced on the 4th that it has signed a priority supply contract (PSA) with Anma Offshore Wind Power. Anma Offshore Wind Power is a 532MW (megawatt) project to be built on the sea about 40km west of Anma Island in Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do. It is a wind farm about 29 times larger than Yeouido, Seoul, and is the largest offshore wind project currently underway in Korea. Construction will begin in the first half of next year and will be completed in 2027.
Taihan Cable & Solution is responsible for supplying and constructing all of the internal network undersea cables used in offshore wind farms. The internal network is a cable that connects wind turbines with generators and offshore substations, and the demand increases as the complex becomes larger. The supply contract is expected to reach hundreds of billions of won.
Taihan Cable & Solution will supply products produced at a plant dedicated to underwater cables in Dangjin, Chungcheongnam-do, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
