[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Kia's labor union finally approved a tentative agreement on wage and collective bargaining in 2023 on the 20th.

As a result, Kia, which had been at the crossroads of the strike, ended negotiations without dispute for three consecutive years.

According to Kia's labor union, 17,410 out of 24,362 people voted in favor of the tentative agreement this year, with a final approval rating of 71.5 percent. The turnout is 88.6%.

Kia's labor and management reached a tentative wage agreement through their 16th main negotiations on the 17th. The agreement was reached when the government decided to revise the clause on "preferential hiring of employees' children," which was a key issue.

The clause, which was criticized as an employment succession, will be revised, but 300 new employees will be hired to secure job shortages and future competitiveness.

The agreement also includes protecting future food, such as stabilizing employment, expanding domestic investment in core parts of new businesses and future cars, and securing domestic supplies due to future business conversion.

In the case of wages and performance incentives, △ The basic salary increase of 111,000 won (including the increase in salary) △ 300% of the management incentive + 8 million won △ 100% of the incentive to achieve the production sales target △ 2.5 million won in special incentives △ 250,000 won in traditional market gift certificates △ free settlement and payment of 34 weeks of free shares were included.
