[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Huh Yoon-hong (44), the son of GS Group Honorary Chairman Huh Chang-soo, has been appointed the new CEO of GS Engineering & Construction.
Vice Chairman Lim Byung-yong, who has served as CEO of GS Engineering & Construction for the past 10 years, resigns from the management front to take responsibility for the 'omission of steel bars' incident. GS Engineering & Construction announced the greeting on the 20th.
Huh, a fourth-generation GS Group president, received a master's degree in business administration (MBA) from the University of Washington in the U.S. and joined GS Engineering & Construction in 2005 after working for GS Caltex. Since then, he has gained experience in various fields such as finance, management innovation, and plant. Since 2019, he has been the head of the New Business Promotion Office and has actively promoted future strategic projects such as overseas market development, water treatment business, and modular business. As a result, the company achieved sales of 1 trillion won in the new business sector last year.
After taking office, Heo plans to strengthen the competitiveness of existing businesses as well as foster new ones. We will promote organizational culture innovation by changing the way we work and self-responsible management system of each business headquarters through performance-based personnel management.
