[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] HD Hyundai Group executives will challenge to obtain certificates for construction equipment such as excavators and builders. The move is aimed at enhancing understanding of the construction machinery sector, which has grown into a core business of the group.

HD Hyundai announced on the 25th that it will expand the construction equipment qualification support system to all executives of the group from next year. Currently, it is operated by three group construction machinery companies: HD Hyundai Site Solution, HD Hyundai Infracore, and HD Hyundai Construction Machinery.

There are two types of licenses eligible for support: small excavators under 3 tons and forklifts.

An executive officer who wishes to obtain a certificate of qualification may receive education free of charge regardless of his/her duties or duties in charge.

Training will be conducted at HD Hyundai Infracore Ansan Technical Education Center and HD Hyundai Construction Machinery Eumseong Global Education Center. It is for two days and one night, including theoretical education such as work safety and equipment technology and principles, and practical training to drive actual equipment.

The three construction machinery companies of HD Hyundai recruit applicants among their executives and team leaders every year and provide training for the operation of small excavators and forklifts. Under the system, about 30 percent of those in charge have so far obtained construction machinery certificates.

HD Hyundai also plans to expand synergy while enhancing its understanding of the group's major businesses by supporting the acquisition of construction machinery certificates from all executives of the group companies.

HD Hyundai's construction machinery division recorded sales of 4.78 trillion won and operating profit of 502.5 billion won in the first half of this year. It has established itself as a core business responsible for about half of the group's total operating profit.
