[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Mirae Asset Securities Vice Chairman Kim Mi-seop was appointed as the new CEO of Mirae Asset Securities.
Mirae Asset Securities said in a public announcement on the 26th that it will appoint Vice Chairman Kim as its new CEO and recommend Vice Chairman Huh Sun-ho and President Jeon Kyung-nam as its new in-house directors. Choi Hyun-man and Lee Man-yeol, who have decided to step down from the management front, will resign on the 5th of next month.
The new in-house director will be appointed at an extraordinary shareholders' meeting on December 7. The term of office is until the 56th general shareholders' meeting in March 2025. Mirae Asset Securities plans to appoint one of the two additional in-house directors appointed through a shareholders' meeting as its additional CEO to establish a system of CEOs.
Kim graduated from Seoul National University's Department of Economics and joined Mirae Asset Asset Management in 1998. After becoming an in-house director of Mirae Asset Securities in March last year, he is said to have contributed to efforts to internationalize finance while overseeing global businesses.
