[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Paris Baguette has been embroiled in controversy over its "disposable dishcloth whipped cream."
A, who lives in Wonju, Gangwon Province, bought baguette bread and two containers of whipped cream at a Paris Baguette affiliated store in the city on the 1st, and reported to the Kyunghyang Shinmun on the 27th that the entire "disstable dishcloth" came from one whipped cream container.
"With my daughter in my 20s, I felt embarrassed while buying and eating whipped cream (the size of a Baskin Robbins small cup) as usual, and when I looked closely, a disposable dishcloth was in it," A said. "How can the entire disposable dish come out of the food?" A said. "I plucked up the courage to report in the public interest whether consumers who trust the Paris Baguette brand should just take it."
A claimed, "When I contacted the affiliated store, the baker came directly to my house and admitted that it was a disposable dishcloth used at the affiliated store." "Paris Baguette headquarters also called several times after confirming this fact and demanded an agreement," he said.
In response, SPC Group, which has Paris Baguette as its affiliate, said, "We are collecting the controversial dishcloths and checking whether they are from the franchise."
