[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Asiana Airlines will resume its temporary board meeting somewhere in Seoul on the morning of the 2nd to decide whether to sell the cargo business separately.
The agenda is whether Korean Air agrees to submit a corrective measure to the European Commission, which reviews the business combination process between Korean Air and Asiana Airlines.
As the main point of the corrective action plan is to "relieve concerns over limiting competition on European routes through the sale of Asiana Airlines' cargo business," the board of directors will conclude the sale of the cargo business.
In order for the bill to be passed, more than three of the five directors, including one in-house director and four outside directors, must approve it.
Asiana Airlines is expected to wrap up discussions on the agenda at the board meeting and proceed with the vote.
Korean Air plans to submit a corrective action plan to the EU executive committee as soon as possible if the Asiana Airlines board of directors approves the submission of the corrective action plan.
