[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] SK Chemicals has obtained an integrated A+ rating in the 2023 ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) evaluation organized by the Korea ESG Standards Agency (KCGS).
This is the second time after receiving the first A+ rating in the 2022 KCGS evaluation. Only five companies have received an A+ rating in the KCGS evaluation for two consecutive years, and SK Chemicals is the only chemical, pharmaceutical and bio company among them.
KCGS gives ESG integration rating and environmental, social and general listed company governance. The grade is classified into seven grades from S to D, and is divided according to the score criteria by grade by absolute evaluation, and no one has obtained the highest grade S so far.
KCGS conducted an evaluation of 791 companies listed on the stock market this year. Only the top 2.4% of the 19 companies achieved an integrated A+ evaluation.
SK Chemicals acquired Environment A+, Social A+, and Governance A in this year's evaluation.
Earlier this year, Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) acquired 'A grade', which is the top 13% of the global ESG evaluation last year.
